Candice Glover Confirms Album Delay, Tapped For MLB All Star Game

Recent "American Idol" winner Candice Glover has been tapped to sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at this year's anticipated Major League Baseball All Star Game.

The anticipated event takes place next Tuesday, July 16 and will also feature performances from Marc Anthony and Pitbull. It will air on FOX.

In related news, Candice Glover has confirmed that her touted debut album has been pushed back.

Originally slated for release July 16, the effort is now due for release October 8.

"Excited to say that the album will be out October 8th. Can’t wait for ya’ll to hear it! I promise it’ll be worth the wait! #MusicSpeaksOct8.” Glover shared via Twitter this week.

In recent days it was rumored that the album would come out on August 27, but that date was incorrect.

Glover is the first "American Idol" act asked to release within a short period of time, winning the title in May and then releasing an album in July. On top of the album, Glover was tasked with preparing for the "American Idols Live Tour," which was also pushed back.

The "American Idols Live Tour" now kicks off July 19 in Seattle.
