This week brings us a selection of a new EP and mixtapes from burgeon artists, whose names appear to be new, but if you have been following Singersroom, you may have sampled their work.
Sherry Davis – Star Crossed Lovers EP | (Purchase)
Add Sherry Davis on to the list of UK talents that will be coming to invade the U.S. The vocally gifted talent packs a hefty prescription in the four-track EP. The songs encompass a pleasant combination of Pop and Soul.
Shanell – Midnight Mimosas | (Download)
Shanell has been running around with Lil Wayne and Young Money for several years, and she is determined not be labeled as just a member of the YMCMB crew. The Gypsy mob leader released the new mixtape, Midnight Mimosas, a follow-up to her last mixtape, Nobody's B!%#h. On the nine-track project, Shanell embodies all that the colorful cocktail drink represents; the flirty, the fun, the sexy, and the feminine. Shanell puts it down for any woman on the dating scene, craving love, and having fun.
L.I.E – Pier 17 | (Download)
L.I.E or Live In Eternity attempt to balance their creative vision of fusing “Pop, Hip-Hop, Rock and R&B music seamlessly” into their new mixtape 'Pier 17.' The first track to hit the internet, "Far Away," incorporated the lulling pulse of saxophonist Mike Pyle, offset by rapper Mike Classic and the vocal trio. The first offering from the project points closer to a merger of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Soul and R&B rather than Pop, Hip-Hop, Rock and R&B. Download the full project to make a decision on whether the New York natives hit their mark.

Her debut single “You Don’t Know Me” is sure to put her on the map – it’s already become a fan favorite because of its catchy chorus and emotional depth.
Shanell is another artist that has made quite an impression lately, with her genre-bending blend of hip hop, R&B, and pop influences. Her latest track “Do You Really Wanna Go?” showcases her talent for creating infectious hooks while still staying true to her roots as an underground rapper. This song will definitely have you hitting repeat over and over again!
Finally we come to L.I.E., whose smooth beats combined with his own raw vocal energy make him one of the most exciting emerging talents today. His single “In The Streets” captures his signature sound perfectly – it’s both laid back and upbeat at the same time, giving listeners something truly special to groove along to. Overview Of Artists
Sherry Davis is a blues and soul singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. She has released three full-length albums, the latest of which was nominated for an award by the Americana Music Association in 2020. Her music combines elements of folk, blues, country, and rock to create an eclectic sound that speaks to her own unique style.
Shanell is a hip hop artist who hails from Brooklyn, New York. She has been making waves on the music scene since she dropped her debut album in 2017. Shanell’s lyrical prowess and melodic beats draw inspiration from 90s rap as well as modern trap music. Her songs often tackle important social issues like racism and sexism with sharp wit and clever wordplay.
L.I.E., or Lasting Impression Entertainment, is a collective made up of four emcees: Jules Spector, Sannu Nuevo, Robby Mackenzie and BizKiT Tha Producer. Their music fuses together classic east coast boom bap production with contemporary lyricism to create something both fresh and familiar at once. They’ve worked closely with underground artists such as Esteefano Toro III and DJ Katae to bring their vision alive on wax.
These three musical acts have all recently put out new releases that are worth checking out if you’re looking for something different yet still satisfyingly familiar.

Sherry Davis’ latest album, “Troublemaker,” is a collection of soulful blues songs that showcase her unique vocal range and powerful songwriting. From the upbeat title track to the somber ballad “Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone,” this album brings together influences from across the musical spectrum for a truly special listening experience.
Shanell has released several singles in recent months, including the buzzworthy trap-inspired banger “My City On Lockdown.” The song speaks to the reality of living through difficult times in New York while also reflecting on how unity can bring about positive change. Other highlights include “Go Harder Than Before” and “Let It Go.”
L.I.E.’s debut EP, “The Mixtape Chronicles: Chapter One,” features production by BizKiT Tha Producer as well as appearances from Esteefano Toro III and DJ Katae.
