Keyshia Cole will not have access to one of the music industry's top producer/songwriter for her future projects. Grammy winner The-Dream says he will no longer work with the Oakland native because his relationship with superstar Beyonce takes presidents.
"Because of what happened, I can’t and I think she would respect why I can’t. That’s [Beyonce] my family. You're talking about my family and you can’t do that," The-Dream told New York's Power 105.1 while rocking a Roc-A-Fella chain from Beyonce and Jay-Z.
Beyonce dropped the single "Bow Down" after Keyshia Cole made several comments towards her Destiny's Child bandmate, Michelle Williams. Following the release, Cole took offense to the song and took to Twitter to voice her frustration.
Keyshia tweeted, “First “Women need to Stick together” now bitches better Bow. Smh. But it’s all G! Chicks stay shooting the s**t. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad.”
She makes it known that she doesn’t change for anyone. “I done kept it real from the start! #RespectTHAT” and “Can’t stand when people all self righteous when it’s convenient it makes them look good. Lmao! But can still talk s**t when convenient 2 FOH.”
During the interview, Dream defended Beyonce insisting, "I think she said exactly what she wanted to say. I think when you’re at the top and you’re a pop icon of this culture…. I mean she got something off her chest that she wanted to get off."
It's safe to say The-Dream won't be working with Keyshia for awhile, if ever.
