Can you imagine Alicia Keys not being the artist that she is today, but being part of a group like Destiny's Child? According to Alicia Keys, that is, in some respect, what she wanted early on.
In a very candid and open moment on "Oprah's Master Class" Sunday, Keys detailed her start and how her first manager, Jeff Robinson, told her that she should be a solo artist.
"I didn't want to be a solo artist. I wanted to be baby Michael Jackson in the group. I thought solo artists were too lonely," Keys explained. "Like, how sad it is up there by yourself… no friends. You don't have your cousins. You don't have your brothers. That's how I saw it."
