Are they watchin now/ What are we doin?…We’re all that we got,” an impassioned Miguel sings in the visual for “Candles in the Sun,” a cut from Kaleidoscope Dream that takes a moment to acknowledge social discrepancies. The resonating images of children with guns, desperation, and religious symbols are sure to leave an impression.
"It's so easy to ignore what's right in front of us sometimes. I wanted to create a song and visual that addressed my everyday concerns of life as I know it in the world that we live in," Miguel said of "Candles in the Sun."
