The shy and humble Frank Ocean is a new type of artist. He is new in a way that is fresh and free from the confines of what we expect from an artist. Mr. Ocean is not flashy or a slick talker. He does not claim to be a pimp or a lady's man. Frank gives painfully, truthful insight into who he is. He is a genius when it comes to music and making others feel and visualize his expression. He creates vivid imagery for his fans with the words that turn into lyrics.
During his performance at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 10, 2013 in Los Angeles, California, Ocean had visuals of him running as he carefully played the piano and sung "Forrest Gump," which in itself is a unique selection. The song, lifted from his debut album, Channel Orange, is deep and the visuals were so creative that you felt where he was coming from or running to. He is just as unique as his work of art, Channel Orange. Say what you will. Frank Ocean is one of the most creative and innovative artists in a very long time.
He doesn't even accept awards like everyone else!
What do you think makes Frank Ocean special and different from other artists of today and the past?
