Survive: Gloria Gaynor Talks Status of R&B, Beyonce and ‘Single Ladies’

Gloria Gaynor, the legendary voice behind the anthemic song "I Will Survive," is still a major fan of R&B music. Not giving up on the genre or her ability to tour and perform, years after winning a Grammy for "I Will Survive," Gaynor is in love with chart-topping acts like Alicia Keys, Adele and as of late, Beyonce.

"I'm listening to rhythm and blues, some dance music, and lots of gospel music. I still love a variety of kinds of music. I like Beyonce. I think my all-time favorite song of hers is 'Single Ladies.' I also love Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, and Adele," Gaynor shared with Parade recently.

While Gaynor is a veteran in this music industry, she has no plans to retire anytime soon. In fact, she is still touring.

"When I'm on stage, all is right with the world. I think the energy comes from the audience. The better your audience, the more energy you have, and the more energy you have, the better show you do," says Gaynor. "The better show you do, the more they love it, and the more energy they give back to you. So it's like a back and forth exchange between you and your audience, and I think that's where my stamina comes from."
