Veteran music executive, Clive Davis, will tribute Whitney Houston at his pre-Grammy party a year after her untimely passing. The event was marred by her death last year after Houston was found dead in her bath tub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on February 11, 2012, just hours before the annual kick off.
"(I am) going to do something to remind everybody that her talent lived among us and in so many people… It's a different kind of opening," Davis told People.com. "The opening has never been done before, with the kind of music that's unprecedented."
Davis has remained tight-lip on the booked performers, but since the late Houston was one of his masterpieces, we're sure it will be unforgettable.
The event will take flight tomorrow Feb. 9th, followed by the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday Feb. 10th.
In related news, Madame Tussauds and the Houston family unveiled four wax figures of the legendary late singer at Madame Tussauds in New York City on Thursday (Feb. 7). The figures includes Whitney in her infamous Super Bowl National Anthem performance outfit, a young Whitney from 1988's “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” video, her “Queen of the Night” outfit from The Bodyguard and the gold gown from a 2009 photo shoot.
