Days like this we’re grateful to know “hot of the press” doesn’t equate to standing in line or waiting on the corner for the paperboy to throw you a copy of the latest news. Today, Miguel’s feature in “The Now” issue of The FADER magazine hit the digital stands.
In his sit down, Miguel gives insight into his personal life, discussing his parent’s split when he was 8, his struggle with being misunderstood and having to fight the assumption that he’s gay, which he’s not if you were wondering. He’s had the same girlfriend for the past 7 years. Additionally, he discuss just being confident in his own skin.
“I decided I was always going to be different. Because I already was different,” Miguel tells The FADER. He talks about his strive to be “undesirable.” When it comes to his music he says, “I don’t want to say it’s okay, I want to love it, I want it to be undeniable.”
Miguel also talks about his journey from All I Want is You in 2010 all the way up to his release of the Kaleidoscope Dream album in September.
Between this news, his performance tonight on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and his Decoded: “The P is Mine” video about the inspiration behind the song, it’s safe to say Miguel is the sh*t today.
