While the Houston family is attempting to move on after Whitney Houston’s untimely passing in the public eye, it seems that there are a few loose ends to tie up. Houston’s will ordered for her entire estate to be passed to her now 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina (estimated at approximately $20 million) in portions. Signed on February 3, 1993, the will states that the that Bobbi Kristina will receive 10% of the estate when she turns 21, another one-sixth percent at age 25, and the full balance at age 30.
But mother of Whitney and grandmother of Bobbi Kristina, Cissy Houston, is afraid that her granddaughter may not be mature enough to handle the fortune, claims TMZ. Sources tell the celeb news outlet that Cissy thinks Kristina is surrounded by negative influential people in her boyfriend Nick Gordon and father Bobby Brown, and thinks she needs to show more maturity in order to get her inheritance. Both Cissy and Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law, have filed a motion to modify Whitney’s will to change the ages at which Bobbi Kristina can have access to her money.
Meanwhile, the family has been filming a docu-series, “The Houstons: On Our Own”, premiering on October 24 at 9pm on Lifetime, so we may get to see this issue being discussed on the show.
