Nicki Minaj is Chris Brown’s opposite as she takes home Best Female Video at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. The Young Money femcee beat out Rihanna’s “We Found Love”, Katy Perry’s “Part of Me”, Selena Gomez and The Scene’s “Love You Like a Love Song” and Beyonce’s “Love On Top” to become the number one female in the building.
“I really didn’t expect this,” says Minaj during her acceptance speech. “Barbs I know you’re out there, I love you so much…to my Ken Barbs, Young Money, Cash Money…I just can’t believe this even happened, like ohh my goodness.”
Congrats to Nicki Minaj. She has climbed hills and valleys to garner recognition as a female in Hip Hop music. Being DIVERSE doesn’t make you a sell out!
