Rumors surfed last week that Day26, the group Diddy handpicked on MTV’s Making the Band 4 in 2007 has called it quits. Today Robert Curry, Brian Andrews, Willie Taylor, and Michael McCluney addressed the situation with an official note to fans stating “It is with great sadness and deep pain that we regret to inform you that effective immediately, Atlantic Records Platinum recording group, DAY26 have decided to take a break from the group and focus on their own individual projects.”
Day26 released two albums on Bad Boy before splitting with Diddy when he moved his label to Interscope. The group announce plans to release their third project entitled “A New Day” in 2010. They dropped the first buzz single “Let It Go” featuring Rosco Dash in 2011, which was followed with records “Make It To Bed” and “Made Love Lately.” The record did not capture the same amount of attention as the previous album singles, which may be due to not broadcasting an accompanying reality television that was done on past projects.
The grouped thanks fans and business associates for their support, “we would like to thank all of the ‘ams’ aka fans, dj’s across the world, promoters, radio programmers, Bad Boy Entertainment, Starstruck Management, BET, VH1 and FUSE and all DAY26 supporters in general, for your unending support throughout these years.” Day26 made a special thank you for Diddy whom launched them into millions of household TV screens, “We would also like to acknowledge that this journey would have not been made possible without the vision and mastermind of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and of course MTV Networks for making a group of unknown men, the stars that they are today.”
Willie Taylor is prepping his second mixtape ‘The Reintroduction of Willie Taylor,’ he recently leaked “Instagram,” a cut featuring his cousin Jeremih.
