Mr. Frank Ocean’s new track “Sweet Life” is rumored to be the first single from his upcoming ‘Channel Orange’ album. Ocean’s vocals are reminiscent of Musiq Soulchild as the Pharrell Williams-produced track glides on, perfect for summer cruising. Ocean sings “You’ve had a landscaper and housekeeper since you were born / The star’s shine always kept you warm / Why see the world, if you got the beach?,” a question thrown at those who seem to have it all.
Ocean is scheduled to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Monday July 9th as his solo network debut, where he may discuss his recent coming out.
“Channel Orange” drops July 17th on Def Jam.
