Mateo has gradually built his resume and fan base as an independent musician over the last few years. The Cincinnati native’s dedication and talent paid off with a new record contract from Interscope Records.

“I really feel like the lane we are in is that young foolish love thing that everybody goes through; it is everybody’s story,” Mateo revealed about his sound.

Mateo signed to Kerry “Krucial” Brothers imprint Krucial Noise last year after leaving MySpace Records in 2010. He released his fourth mixtape “Love & Stadiums” featuring the hot single “Don’t Shoot Me Down.”

The buzz from the project, along with live performances around the U.S., helped the R&B crooner capture national attention.
