Rihanna Attends Australian Premiere of Battleship, Talks “The Boys”

Rihanna was spotted today (April 10) attending the Australian premiere of her debut film “Battleship.” RiRi, along with her co-stars Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker, arrived at the premiere on a white navy boat with director Peter Berg prior to walking the red carpet.

“There’s a lot of good food here, a lot of good scenery, I love taking a cruise around the harbour sometimes, the shopping,” Rihanna told the Australian Herald about what she loved about down under. “And the boys. So beautiful.”

“The navy have a lot of women in there and I was looking for somebody that … we hadn’t seen before in film, and I believed kind of had swagger, and could kick ass, and look at her – she’s got it,” Director Peter Berg adds.

Rihanna’s new BFF and co-star Brooklyn Decker also had kind words about the pop star. “The fact that we bring two really empowered women to a movie that typically doesn’t show strong, empowered women, is really special for us,” she said.

Playing a naval officer also gave Rihanna a stronger appreciation for the navy. “I have only respect for them. They’re real life heroes … These guys are putting their lives on the line for their country,” she adds.
