We have seen veteran artists like Kelly Price, Tyrese, Slim of 112, and Eric Benet take full control of their careers by launching independent record labels. Kenny Lattimore is following the pack, using his twenty-three years of entertainment business knowledge to propel his newly formed SincereSoul Records.
“I’m thrilled to be launching my own label,” says Kenny Lattimore. “It has been a blessing to find success in this industry as an artist and now, thanks to EMI Label Services, I have found a home for SincereSoul Records. I’m looking forward to having more control creatively as an artist and as a businessman outside the recording studio, where I have the freedom to explore all facets of my experiences and blend them into my music.”
The first project Lattimore will release is his latest record ‘Back 2 Cool.’ It has been four years since the D.C. crooner dropped a solo effort and the forthcoming set took Lattimore two years to finish. His point of view of the new album is “about relationships getting back to a place of reconciliation-finding a new place of ‘cool.'”
He added: “With this album, I want people to know that it is ‘cool’ for R&B to go back to its roots and be about love again.”
Mr. Lattimore will hit audiences with his lead single off ‘Back 2 Cool’, “Find A Way” by May.
Lattimore and wife of nine years, Chante Moore, divorced last year. Moore made the “private announcement” via her Facebook page in an effort to break the news before the story got twisted in the media.
