Goapele recently celebrated the release of her fourth studio album ‘Break of Dawn’ at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City and Singersroom was there to capture her special performance on tape. Check out our conversation about her long hiatus, the goal for her new album ‘Break of Dawn,’ being sexy and more.
On Her Break: “I would say I’ve been singing and songwriting and recording for over a decade and I always wanted to be a mom so for one I just wanted to take a minute to create some space and time to have a family; move more at a life pace, record when I felt like I had something to say. When I felt motivated and [I] do shows here and there to support the people; give something to the fans that have been supporting me. [I waited] till I was ready to put out ‘Break of Dawn’ and now that I have, I feel really excited and energized and ready to tour and share it with the world.”
