In support of her critically acclaimed fifth studio album ‘Pieces of Me,’ Grammy nominated R&B songstress Ledisi will hit the road this fall for her first headlining tour.
“They’re going to put out more singles and still work on this one [Pieces of Me] and then in the fall I come out with a whole tour, my first headlining tour so I’m freaking out about it,” Ledisi told Singersroom at the recent 24th ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards.
As far as who will hit the road with Ledisi, no artists has been confirmed as yet but she says, “I love Timothy Bloom and I’m loving Avery Sunshine,” adding, “They’re both great performers as well as singers because I love performance and signing together. They’re great so we’ll see if it happens.”
Concertgoers will be in for a treat, as Ledisi has been known to rock a stage. She also tells us she models her voice after someone very special in her life. “I would have to say someone you don’t know, which is my mother but people have said I sound like Chaka (Khan), Tina (Turner), Sometimes Ella (Fitzgerald) and I love the compliments but I really would like to be know as Ledisi,” she says.
The album “Pieces of Me”, available in stores now, features production by Salaam Remi, KayGee, Mike City and Carvin Haggins & Ivan Barias. R&B singer Jaheim makes a guest appearance on “Stay Together” while John Legend lends his songwriting skills to the future classic “I Miss You Now.”
