Pop star Britney Spears is being sued by a brand marketing company, who claims the “Hold It Against Me” hitmaker dropped them from a deal over her fragrance line.
In the $10 million suit, filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Brand Sense Partners LLC names Spears and her father, claiming the pair renegotiated a royalties deal with cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden last year. The lawsuit claims the new deal cut Brand Sense out of its 35 percent commission, in a deal struck back in 2004.
Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, controls his daughter’s financial affairs along with an attorney as part of a court-ordered conservatorship established in 2008.
In related news, Spears released her new album, Femme Fatale, on Tuesday (Mar. 29th). The entertainer summer 2011 US tour is scheduled for 26 dates, starting on June 17 in Sacramento, California.
