According to online reports, R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles is set to join Coldplay and U2 as a headliner at the upcoming UK music festival Glastonbury. This would be Beyonceâs first performance at Glastonbury but she did visit the festival in 2008 when husband Jay-Z headlined.
Recently organizer Michael Eavis mentioned that he wanted to bring another huge US name to the event. “There’s an American artist that I’ve been wanting to have for years,” Eavis stated prompting website HolyMoly.com to claim the mystery person is in fact Beyonce.
For the three day event in Somerset, South West England, U2 will play the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night, with Beyonce taking the top spot on the Saturday, while Coldplay have been given the prestigious closing slot on the Sunday night.
The full official line-up has yet to be unveiled. A spokesperson for Beyonce has yet to comment on the reports.
