Chris Brown: ‘I Think My Fans Make Me Who I Am’

R&B singer Chris Brown has shifted his focus from mixtapes to releasing direct webisodes to his fans. In the latest series, the “Deuces” hitmaker opens up about how music is personal to him and how his fans drive is creativity.

“These last couple of weeks…even months has been kind of crazy for me,” Brown states in the clip. “I’ve been going back and fourth doing mixtapes…I put out three mixtapes this year, ‘Fan of a Fan,’ ‘In My Zone’ and ‘In My Zone 2.’ I just been grinding…just tryna really just focus on my talent, focus on me as a person, focus on just my music and what God has in store for me to do.

Brown, who has always kept in one hundred with his supporters, opens up a little about whom he surrounds himself with.

“As a humbled artist…there aint a lot of friends out there,” says Brown. “Aint a lot of people that you can trust and put your all and your heart into. What I put my heart into is my fans.”

Brown later went on to say, “I think my fans make me who I am, from my records to my style to what’s hot. Everything I do is from them.”

As far as his music Brown says, “its just something I was born with,” adding “I just feel like I got nothing else. This is me, my music, my life…Chris Brown.”
