Christina Aguilera has set a release date for her anticipated project, “Bionic”. A follow up to 2006s “Back To Basics,” “Bionic” is set to end Aguilera’s hiatus from music when it hits stores June 8, 2010. The release date and album cover (pictured), were revealed on Aguilera’s official website earlier this week, pointing to the release of the album’s lead single “Not Myself Tonight”. According to Aguilera, that song, produced by Polow Da Don and Ester Dean, is just a taste of what’s to come on the effort, she believes will deliver the “unexpected”. “I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective,” says Aguilera. “I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I donât think anyone will expect.” In addition to the Polow Da Don and Ester Dean produced “Not Myself Tonight,” Aguilera teams up with Sia, Tricky Stewart, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch, and Ladytron, among others, on “Bionic”. “Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic,” says Aguilera. “My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic.” “Bionic” is slated for release June 8, 2010.
