Rihanna Plans ‘Up Tempo’ Rated R Follow Up

With “Rated R” steadily moving and the latest single “Rude Boy” climbing the charts, Rihanna is ready to record a follow up project. While she loved the “bass” and “grime” of “Rated R,” Rihanna believes the next album will be packed with more uptempo records. “I really like the bottom, the grime of it (“Rated R”),” she told MTV Korea recently. “But if I were to combine that with more energetic, up-tempo pop records, then I think that will be a happy marriage. And that’s where we’ll probably go next.” A timetable for the project has not been revealed but, talk of the effort does give credence to rumors of Rihanna returning to the studio to record new material with Ne-Yo and recent Grammy winner David Guetta.
