Alicia Keys can celebrate an unexpected victory on the R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart this week. Thanks to a jump in airplay, Keys 2009 single “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” leaped to no.2 on the chart. Spending several weeks in the lower half of the top 10 and top 20, “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” boots Trey Songz’s “Say Aah” and “I Invented Sex” as well as Young Money’s “Bedrock”. In related news, Ludacris is celebrating the success of “How Low”. The lead single from his forthcoming “Battle of the Sexes” album, “How Low” reached Platinum level late last week. Taking news of the song’s success to Twitter, Ludacris told fans “As of Today Thanks to YOU the single “How Low” is officially Platinum!!! History has been made once again.” In related news, Ludacris released a video for the follow up single “My Chick Bad” late last week. Featuring Nicki Minaj, the video includes a cameo from Trina. “Battle of the Sexes” is due in stores March 9.
