Pharrell Williams has been out of the limelight as of recent but perhaps he’s been sitting down with his sketch pad as opposed to his rhyme book. Just in time to hit the ski slopes, Williams is teaming up with Moncler, the Italian luxury outerwear company, to produce a line of men’s outerwear due out fall 2010. This of course isn’t Williams first design experience. He collaborated with Japanese designer, Nigo on the A Bathing Ape (BAPE) clothing line and also designed the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream lines.
The Moncler collection will be made using fabric from a company that Williams owns called Bionic that spins yarn from recycled plastic bottles. The line will consist of vests and puffer jackets that are reversible with black on one side and shots of forests taken by a Japanese artist on the other side. The vest style pictured here is called the “Pacifist” and is designed to resemble a bullet proof vest. Pricing is not yet available but Moncler jackets normally range in the thousands of dollars. These will probably also be in that range, but this might be worth it. We’d expect nothing less than luxurious environmentally-friendly wearable-art from Skateboard P.
