When it comes to fellow R&B singers and others coming at his title “The R in R&B” and perhaps the ‘King of R&B,’ R. Kelly says he’s like Ali. “It’s like Ali: When you get to a certain status, you never have to throw a punch,” Kelly said at a special listening party for his forthcoming album “Untitled”. Kelly’s statement follows a controversial diss/mixtape track released by Grammy-nominated singer Trey Songz. On the song, the “Successful” singer went as far as singing “He’s a legend but I’m fresher”…. “Trey songz coming where Kelly… who”. In related news, R. Kelly’s “Untitled” listening party went off without a hitch at his Illinois estate Monday. Sources in attendance say the “Number One” singer celebrated with friends and industry tastemakers while also shedding light on his future. “May the best of past, be the worst of our future,” Kelly shared. “By the grace of God, I’m still here doing it big,” he added. “I’m trying to get back on top of that mountain and roar like the Lion King.” Kelly’s “Untitled” album is due in stores and digital retailers October 13.
