Michael Jackson’s former publicist Raymone Bain says the King of Pop has not only breached his contract but has essentially ignored her. Today, Bain is suing the “Thriller” star for $44 million.. Known widely for defending Jackson during his much-publicized and disputed child molestation trial, Bain filed suit against the pop star in Washington, DC this week. Citing several attempts made at settling a dispute related to pay since she was rehired in 2006, after being fired by Jackson’s brother Randy in 2005, Bain says Jackson left her no other option but to file suit: “Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations of our contractual relationship, despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter. I am sincerely disappointed in Mr. Jackson’s failure to honor his obligations.” Reportedly shaken by his seeming refusal to comply Bain told Reuters the suit was filed with “deep regret” but has in fact cited Jackson’s “This Is It” concert series as one of the deals she says she helped negotiate but hasn’t been paid the 10 percent owed. Bain joins several parties who have emerged with suits in recent months — this after Jackson’s rumored $400 million deal for the “This Is It” concert series which kicks off this summer at London’s O2 Arena.
