When life’s trials and tribulations get you down, there’s always joy in laughter. With that in mind, Stellar Award-winning dynamo Vickie Winans and BET have teamed up for a forthcoming television series ! Winans, known widely for songs including “Shake Yourself Loose” and “We Shall Behold Him,” will host “A Time To Laugh,” a fresh gospel stand-up based series that joins BET’s line up of Gospel/Inspirational shows including ‘Sunday Best,’ ‘Bobby Jones Gospel’ and ‘Celebration of Gospel’. Noted by the network as a “series that packs a hilarious punch with the best in gospel stand-up with dynamic dancers, musical artists, and fast paced Bible story improv,” ‘A Time To Laugh’ will pull from a fresh urban contemporary perspective. ‘A Time To Laugh’ is expected to air early 2010. In related Gospel news, Mary Mary has extended open arms to embattled Hip Hop recording star T.I.. The gospel duo, currently serving as judges on BET’s Sunday Best, sat down for a chat with radio host Devi Dev at 93.5 and mentioned that they’d love to work with T.I. if he’d like to come and talk about jesus. “Yeah, I like T.I. I gotta buy the Walmart version though,” Tina of Mary Mary shared. “T.I., (if) you want to come talk about Jesus with the Marys, lets do it man!” T.I. is serving a one year and one day sentence related to weapons charges. If the collaborative effort occurs, T.I. will join Destiny’s Child, Kierra Sheard, and Kirk Franklin who have all worked with “the Marys” in recent years.
