The third season of FOX TV’s hit series ‘Empire’ will premiere on Wednesday, September 21st. In anticipation of the upcoming launch, Jussie Smollett (Jamal) gives us a taste of the show’s new music with ‘Need Freedom.’
Back in March, The Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHF) announced they would induct Elvis Costello, Marvin Gaye, Tom Petty, Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, and Chip Taylor. Now the SHF has revealed the who’s who of stars who will present and/or perform at the June 9th event.
Then after last night’s episode, Smollett posted a tweet that sounds like he was throwing up the deuces to the show for good.

To celebrate the release of the season two soundtrack of Foxâs hit drama âEmpireâ, Columbia Records has released one of the projectâs potent tracks, a duet between Jussie Smollett and Alicia Keys called âPowerful.â
The clip features Jussie and Pit at a poppinâ party in a luxurious mansion in Miami surrounded by a bevy of beauties; a fitting visual for the up-tempo dance song.
Earlier this month, Columbia Records released two new songs from season two of Empire, and now another has surfaced. âBorn To Loseâ is a sobering, mid-tempo song produced by Swizz Beatz that touches on troubled times, in and out of the showâs storyline.
With the success of Empire’s soundtrack from the first season, the demand is high for more music and Columbia Records has delivered!
