An Intimate Night With Karina Pasian

Flat out…Karina Pasian is a 16 year old genius in the making. A natural talent on the piano, who makes certain every note flowing from her smooth vocals grabs your attention and forces you to focus in and wonder. Wonder what? Wonder how this petite frame and sweet young face could produce such a silky voluminous sound that falls nothing short of magnificent.
Though she only performed four songs, which included a Stevie Wonder cover, off her upcoming album, ‘First Love,’ they were captivating enough for even the most cynical of listeners to agree it will be worth rushing to the stores and copping. Two songs in particular performed were celestial melodies to my ear. The first being “First Love,” which earns its name from the album or perhaps vice versa. Karina served a graceful harmonious ballad that was sublimely blended with her keyboard combination. She gave a quick shout-out to L.A. Reid, saying this particular song was his favorite, Reid in return confirmed the statement, and who wouldn’t love this song with such a sweet rhythm? The second song that really seized my attention was her final song, “Slow Motion.” Let me start off by saying the lyrics alone are incredibly clever and fresh, this mixed with Karina’s angelic voice, whom I hear has had opera training, is a really special treat.
All in all, Karina’s performance was masterful. She carried herself as if she were 25 at peace instead of “16 At War." When the album drops on August 19 definitely make yourself a purchase!
