With a promising film career and a third album stacked with hot tracks, there's no question Christina Milian has her sights set on the top. But with Milian's third album, "So Amazing," she falls a little short on her journey to greatness, even with big-name guest artists and production from Miami producers Cool and Dre.
The disc begins with Milian's current single, "Say I," featuring Young Jeezy, but I was feelin' the second track a bit more. "Twisted" definitely leaves a ring in your ears. The song - about a crush who's got her all twisted up - has a heavy bass intro and tight lyrics: "It's so amazing; my heartbeat is racing when I see your face and all I know is I'm in the zone and I'm writing this song for you." I must admit Christina steps up to the plate vocally on this song.
"She Don't Know" is another cool joint. It?s a laid back, sexy song about being the other woman. The song is soothing and mysterious, with Milian breathing a few lines in Spanish.
?Who's Gonna Ride" featuring the Oscar-winning Three 6 Mafia is missing something. The arrangement and mix was not up to par either. "Gonna Tell Everybody," is overly intense. Musically the lyrics didn?t fit the track. In fact most of the songs sounded like fillers.
I know Christina is talented but it's just that 'So Amazing' lacks originality, something to set Milian apart from the pack of pop and R&B singers trying to accomplish Beyonce or Mariah Carey status.
