R&B star Akon has been charged by police after a fan said she suffered concussion when he allegedly threw a teenage concert-goer off stage, hitting her.
The incident occurred in June at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York. The singer is scheduled to appear in court next week on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment.
Injured fan Abby Rosa said she had hired a lawyer over the incident.
Audience members at the concert told the Associated Press a spectator lobbed something at the singer and Akon asked the crowd to point out the offender.
A security guard picked out a 15-year-old and sent him up to the stage, where Akon is said to have picked him up onto his shoulders and threw him into the crowd.
Abby Rosa said the boy landed on her. She told a local newspaper she was later diagnosed with a concussion.
Akon's lawyer has said there is no basis for criminal charges.
I believe a 15 year old should not be at a Akon concert anyway!! His lyrics are gross and sexually inappropriate. I am sad for any injuries incurred as a result, however, if this person had not been in attendance then perhaps this could have been avoided.

Akon after this, you really need to lay low for a while and think about what you've done. and for the record because I know some people may say different, but I am not hating on Akon!! I really hope this story is not true.

This is crazy, last time it was about some 15yr old girl which was not his fault for letting a under age girl into the club who was dressed like a complete s***. Now thi? Man people need to get alife and stop hating on those who are making it. Akon baby keep your head up don't let this put you down and INSHALLAH you gonne be just fine

I guess she had a lot of time to think hhmmmm! let me see if I can get some money from Akon. Well I wish her luck and hope she has gotten better ( if its true) but as for getting paid from that incident? Lady there are many other ways to get money.....and one of them is not trying to frame a fellow human being for some dollars!!
