Next To Me singer Emeli Sande has not only set records with her debut album, “Our Version of Events,’ but has earned praise from Simon Cowell this week.
Labeling Sande’ his “favorite singer” at the moment, in an interview over the weekend, Cowell’s praise comes within hours of Sande’s chart-topping debut on the UK albums chart.
According to figures released Sunday, “Our Version of Events” debuted at no.1 with first week sales of over 113, 000 copies.
Led by “Next To Me” and “Heaven,” “Our Version of Events” is now the year’s fastest selling album in the UK. It also the first album of the year to surpass 100k in sales first week.
Sande is due to hit the U.S. next, joining Coldplay for a few tour dates this March.
