After having a strong comeback year, R&B superstar Chris Brown made his way into the Bay Area on Saturday, October 22, 2011 for his ‘F.A.M.E.’ Tour. With the support of T-Pain, Tyga, and Bow Wow, Chris made sure it would be a memorable night at Concord’s Sleep Train Pavilion. And given the high levels of screaming and crying from the audience that night, many fans left satisfied, wanting more.
Starting off the show were the YMCMB representatives â Tyga and Bow Wow. Rocking a snapback, shades and a body full of tattoos, Tyga took the stage and easily flowed through his songs. However, Bow Wow, 24, stole the show as soon as he stepped on stage. Having been in the music industry for over a dozen years, Bow entered the stage with confidence and immediate stage presence. He easily went through all his old hits, including “Let Me Hold You,” “Outta My System,” and “Bow Wow (That’s My Name),” as fans screamed and sang along word for word. He continued to keep the vibe up by bringing out Bay Area rappers Lil B and E-40 as surprise guests. Before leaving, Bow made sure to let fans know that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon with a new album, ‘Underrated,’ and new movies in the works. “Fifteen years in the making, and I’m still here,” Bow exclaimed.
Nappy Boy’s own T-Pain continued the party and got the crowd on their feet with essentially all the songs he has ever been featured on. Going from hits like “Bartender” and “Buy You a Drink” to a pop dance breakdown, T-Pain showed off his vocal abilities sans auto-tune and his dance skills in rare form.
And finally the man of the hour, Chris Brown, emerges onto the stage in camouflage and combat boots, and the crowd goes wild. Right off the bat, he starts popping and krumping to “I Can Transform Ya” and “Wall To Wall.” Chris made sure to go all out with the stage production, which included lasers, acrobatic dancers, large screens, and a live band backing him. Amongst his high level of dancing, Chris also slowed it down for the audience as he serenaded them with hits like “Yo (Excuse Me Miss),” “Body to Body,” and “No BS,” while they sang along. A lucky fan even got the chance to share the stage with him on a bed as Chris teased her with a lap dance while crooning to “Wet The Bed.” Not skipping a single beat, Chris continued to raise the energy with hits like “She Ain’t You,” “Ain’t Thinkin’ About You” with Bow Wow, “Deuces” with Tyga and Kevin McCall, “With You,” and “Forever.” Ending off the night, Chris performed his electro dance hit “Yeah 3x” in a neon-lit outfit, before closing off with “Beautiful People.”
Needless to say, Chris breezed his way through an unforgettable show as if it was his last.
