R&B veteran Bobby Brown will release his fifth studio album this May. Lead by the first single, âGet Out The Way,â the new effort will be Brownâs official first release in over a decade.
So what took the âMy Prerogativeâ hitmaker so long to release a new record? From battling drugs, jail and a messy marriage with ex-wife Whitney Houston, Brown says he realized he had to change.
âLike six and half years ago, it all came crashing down. I didn’t want to be the person I was becoming at the time. I got off heroin and cocaine.â Brown tells Singersroom. âMy children were a major influence to my change. They are everything to me. I have a granddaughter, she calls me ‘Pop Pop.’ I am living the life God intended for me. Twenty years ago I would have never thought I would be where I am today.”
Happy with his current live, Brown says he has no regrets.
He adds: “I would do so many things different, but I still don’t regret the things in my life because they have made me the man I am today.”
