Former B2K member Jarell Houston, aka J-Boog, has been released from police custody in Los Angeles after being arrested for suspicion of domestic violence and unpaid traffic tickets. While the “Bounce” singer is reportedly happy to be free, sources close to him say allegations of there being a domestic situation between him and the mother of his children are 100% false. “There hasnât been an official filing for domestic violence,â Damuer Leffridge, COO of Boog’s label, Popular Records, told VIBE late Tuesday. Rumors that Boog had been involved in some form of altercation with his girlfriend and mother of his children surfaced as soon as news broke that he had been arrested. TMZ, speaking with neighbors, was first to report that Boog had been arrested after neighbors said they heard screaming followed by six to seven police squad cars. While Leffridge says Boog’s girlfriend is in fact the woman involved, she has no plans to press charges for what could be called a verbal dispute. “Sheâs not interested in pressing charges,” says Leffridge. “TMZ got it like he beat some woman to death, and that just didnât happen. Boog went here today to see what the district attorney is going to do. He had like two or three traffic tickets that he needed to take care of. Thatâs the reason why he had to stay yesterday, to clean up the tickets.” Claiming to live just blocks away, Leffridge went on to tell VIBE that this is not the first time Boog and his girlfriend have “made noise” in the neighborhood. “Jarell and them, they keep up a lot of noise — this just the truth. And when him and her were screaming on each other on a Sunday afternoon, talking crazy, one of the neighbors decided to call the police.” Boog was released late Tuesday with no charges filed at press time.
