After achieving award-winning success with her debut album “The Fame” and its follow up “The Fame Monster,” Lady Gaga is ready to try something new. “I’ve evolved, but artists should evolve. In the 70s and the 60s, artists evolved all the time,” Lady Gaga told MTV while on her Monster Ball Tour. “From album to album the music was changing. The feeling was changing. The artists seemed almost entirely different than who they were five or six years before.” While she has yet to pen songs for her next effort, one she believes will be full of “sonic energy and lyrical style,” Gaga believes the creativity will flow just as it did with “The Fame Monster”. “I’m going to write new music… that’s the beauty of writing your own music – you don’t have to rely on songwriters and producers to write hit songs for you,” says Gaga. “So I’m going to write a new album and I’m going to have new ideas. I assume that it will inspire some kind of new sonic energy and lyrical style”. There is no word as to when Lady Gaga plans to have her next album out or whether or not she intends to take a break after the Monster Ball Tour wraps. Since its release in November, Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster” has sold over 312,000 copies. Its predecessor “The Fame” has sold just below two million copies, according to Soundscan.
