Keri Hilson and Maxwell are among those who walked away with awards at Tuesday’s taping of the 2009 Soul Train Awards. Recognizing the best in music at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center, the 2009 Soul Train Awards featured performances from Trey Songz, Toni Braxton, Boyz II Men, Ginuwine and more. Beyonce led the pack of winners with three awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”. Keri Hilson, recognized for the Gold certified debut “In A Perfect World,” picked up one of the night’s most coveted prizes — Best New Artist. She also took home an award for Best Collaboration (“Knock You Down” feat. Ne-Yo and Kanye West). Maxwell (Best R&B/Soul Male), Mary Mary (Best Gospel Performance) and Jamie Foxx (Record of the Year — “Blame It”) round out the night’s top winners. As previously reported, Michael Jackson was posthumously recognized as Entertainer of the Year.
