Instead of releasing additional albums, Grammy winner Lil Wayne may be serving time behind bars in the near future.
"Wayne is going to plead guilty," a source close to the rapper said Wednesday.
According to All Hip Hop, Lil Wayne will likely plead guilty to possession of weapons charges, stemming from a 2007 tour bus incident, that could earn him up to fifteen years behind bars Thursday.
Instead of serving a full term, sources say the rapper could plea to an eight month long jail sentence.
"If he doesn't plead, he goes to jail for a long time," the source said.
While no official confirmation has come from Lil Wayne, it is believed that a statement of some sort will be released this week.
The Grammy-winner had plans to release two albums over the next year. The fate of those releases is unknown at this time.
