Mariah Carey fell short of landing a no.1 debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart Wednesday. Carey’s latest effort “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” came in at no.3 after facing intense competition from Barbara Streisand and Paramore. Selling over 168,000 copies, Carey’s “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” becomes her first effort to bow below no.1 in over five years. In comparison, the diva’s last album “E=MC2” debuted at no.1 in 2008 with 463k sold. Elsewhere on the chart, Barbara Streisand’s “Love Is The Answer” debuted at no.1 with over 207k sold, while Paramore pulled off a no.2 debut of 175k in sales with “Brand New Eyes,” there best sales week and highest charting album ever. Jay-Z’s “Blueprint” falls 2-6 with sales near 89k last week. Next week, watch out for the debut of BeBe & CeCe Winans’ first album in fifteen years, titled “Still”. In stores now, the album features Mary Mary and production from Mario Winans and Warryn Campbell.
