Loyal fans of “Not Anymore,” “Torn” and recently “Regret” singer LeToya (Luckett) are fed up with a seeming lack of support for her latest album “Lady Love”. “We, the fans and supporters of LeToya Luckett are EXTREMELY disappointed at the way the entire “Lady Love” project has been handled thus far,” one of two recently kicked off petitions reads, asking Luckett’s label, Capitol Records, to support and provide further promotion of her album. According to fans, Luckett’s sophomore release has been poorly promoted since it arrived in stores in August, after a myriad of release date changes and singles including “Not Anymore” and “She Ain’t Got”. Blaming the charting success of Luckett’s first two singles on promotion, fans says “We believe that she has proven she is more than deserving of the same promotion her label mates have received e.g. Katy Perry. We fully understand that her first two singles did not push this album the way we all hoped, but given the promotion they received we are not surprised.” At press time over 400 signatures were present on both ongoing petitions. Fans say they hope for renewed support from Capitol Records: “We ask that you provide LeToya with, at the very least, the same promotion that her debut album received, an official add date for “Regret” to build upon its already strong airplay performance, and a budget that reflects a Grammy award winning, Platinum selling artist, with two #1 albums to her credit, so a “Regret” video can be produced and distributed. We understand that money does not grow on trees, and so far the album has not returned your investment, but we know that “Regret” can change all of that with your fully renewed support.” Luckett’s “Lady Love” follows her self-titled debut featuring the hit singles “Torn” and “She Don’t”. Luckett is also due to appear in the forthcoming film “The Preacher’s Kid,” in theaters this fall.
