After dominating the charts with their 2008 effort "Doll Domination," the Pussycat Dolls say they're taking a much needed break.
"Right now the Pussycat Dolls are on a break. It's actually a much-needed break," PCD member Melody Thornton told MTV.
While The Pussycat Dolls have had a great year, including a tour with Britney Spears and hit singles like "Hush, Hush" and "Top of the World," the girls have also been battling break up rumors.
As previously reported on Singersroom, tension between the ladies increased when Nicole Scherzinger's name was placed ahead of the group's name, prompting an onstage rant from Melody Thornton.
Speaking of the featured status (Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger), Thornton at one point said '"Thank you so much for supporting me - even if I'm not featured, you
know what I'm saying?... You can do anything you want to do. Don't give up on your dreams and
don't let anyone stop you - ever!"
Citing the break up rumors this week, Thornton tells MTV, "No, [we're not broken up] ... everybody keeps saying that, but it's like, let me see who took a break? Dave Chappelle. Remember when Dave Chappelle took that break? OK, maybe Dave Chappelle's a bad example. What about, like, Hootie and the Blowfish?"
Since 2005 the Pussycat Dolls have released two albums. Their 2005 debut PCD spawned the singles "Don't Cha," "Beep," "Buttons," and "Wait A Minute".
