R&B singer Monica admits the prospect of putting her life and family on television for millions to see every week was frightening. But, after thinking about the effect it could have on others she went for it.
"It was very scary stepping into the type of situation that would expose me and my life," Monica says of the forthcoming BET reality series 'Still Standing: Monica'.
Slated to premiere in October, Monica's forthcoming reality series will not only showcase preparation for the release of her fifth studio album but, her struggle as a hard working mom attempting to 'juggle it all'.
While Monica's series has been anticipated for months, the mother of two says it would not be airing if it weren't for the positive effect she believes it may have on youth.
"I think that there are so many
kids now that are aspiring to do exactly what I’ve done and I felt like
that was worth me putting myself on the line so they would really
understand what it’s like to try and juggle both a music career and
personal life."
"Still Standing: Monica' premieres October 27, only on BET.

Look it here Coochie Kente, I named myself, not my mama. It's kinda like you insisting your name is not TOBY. I love Monica, God knows I do, but I'll cut your foot off before I let you dog me. Now, where's my sugar?
@shawakatima:
___1)It is a shame your mom gave you such a terrible name. Change it IMMEDIATELY.
___2) SWAGGER IS OVERUSED. Kill the word.
___3) Monica fakelity shows helped Ashlee Simpson & Keyshia Cole, but they also do alot of harm. Your sons are young but dont let BET be the only promotion. Get out of ATL & do NY, DC, Nevada, Cali, FL, radio interviews & promo singing. Do all the talk show was well.
This is the only girl with a swag bigger than Shwakatima's. Ms. Monica, I love your presence. Reality: You've been here before. If you are ever in Brooklyn, I got some fish-n-grits for you. Now give me some sugar if you're freaky. Give it to mama!
