R&B singer/songwriter Ginuwine is back on top after taking a nearly four year break from music.
Thanks to the recently released album "A Man's Thoughts," Ginuwine has debuted atop the R&B charts and is also #9 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Led by the Bryan Michael-Cox produced single "Last Chance," Ginuwine's latest effort is the "Get Involved" singer's first release under a new deal with Notifi/Asylum/Warner Bros.
Proud of the accomplishment and music he put together with Ginuwine, Notifi Records President Ira Dewitt issued a statement Wednesday.
"It makes me incredibly proud that my small independent label has earned a #1 R&B album on our very first try," says Dewitt.
A Man’s Thoughts
also reunites Ginuwine with multi-platinum stars Timbaland and Missy on
the up-tempo "Get Involved". The Virginia Beach-based trio worked
together on Ginuwine's debut album The Bachelor, which
included the hit single "Pony”. This time around, Ginuwine has
shown growth, which was recently noted in USA Today.
"On (his) new album A Man's Thoughts,
he's more subtle, and relationships now tend to last beyond last call
at the club. Ginuwine has always been a smooth purveyor of steamy slow
jams, but here the sex involves more emotional entanglement, and that
can lead to complications," USA Today writes.
"A Man's Thoughts" also includes collaborative efforts with Brandy and Bun B.
Ginuwine's last top 10 debut was 2003s "The Senior". Featuring the singles "In Those Jeans," "Hell Yeah" and "Stingy," "The Senior" debuted at no.6 on Billboard's 200 albums chart.
"A Man's Thoughts" is in stores now.

G's album is good, but how can u give credit to a label that had G do songs w/ great producers & act like they had great ideas about thinking of these ppl to help w/ the album, and a large distribution label that pushes the album. I heard the owner of the indie is full of herself. Shout out to the music industry execs that put their time in, and actually know how raise an artist as opposed to ppl who buy their way into the industry...the real new york PLEASE stand-up!
I just what to say that Im so proud of Ginuwine and his accomplishments on this new album. Been ridin wit him for bout 8years now, and will continue to be a fan till dem wheels fall off lol. And even den im rite der wit um. I love the album its great from beginning to end. And erryone should GO GET A COPY! Because its hot and you will LOVE IT!
Congrads G!
You are right Ris, the new Timbo is mainstream! I like his songs with Nelly Fertado, but you're not gonna get that previous R&B/Funk sound when you work with Madonna, Chris Cornell and JT as compared to G. and Missy!
Met Ginuwine last wk at the BET awards...Love him! ANd I'm so happy for him! It's great to have him back on the scene...Wonderful album, but G never fails in that dept :) I just wish the song him n timbo n missy collabed on had that throwback timb sound that that trio perfected..not this new mainstream timbo
Ginuwine's new album is quite good...good summer music! Now all I need is that K'Jon album that comes out on Aug. 4th and I will be set for the rest of the summer!
That's pretty good for G, considering MJ's records selling well this past week! In the past, he has always deserved the same multi-platinum sales numbers as Usher, but his previous lame ass record label couldn't get him there and they're the reason why he and Timberland didn't work together for years, until now! Future hit songs that were produced by Timberland went to Justin Timberlake and those #1 songs could've been for G.! He has stayed married for 10 plus years which is good for Hollywood standards! Alot of people have said that, Ginuwine was a better dancer than Usher and Justin and hopefully with this new CD, he'll get his just due!
