In speaking out on Chris Brown and Rihanna this week, R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo admits that he too, has experienced a similar situation growing up.
"I come from a household where stuff like that went on between my mother and my father," Ne-Yo told MTV News.
"Abuse of any form... be it physical, be it verbal, whatever the case may be -- has been going on and is going on right now. It's been a problem. It just sucks that it has to happen to people who are in the spotlight for people to actually start talking about it."
According to Ne-Yo, Rihanna was "fine" when he spoke with her but it is the fact that this "thing" is getting so much attention because of who they are that is bothering him now.
"..what about the millions and millions of women that have been battered and are being battered all over the world right now? What about them?"
In related news, Ne-Yo has said he'd like to sit down with Chris Brown to about what happened the night of Feb. 8. Click Here to see what he'd like to say to the "Forever" singer.

cheral wat are you on about, where have you been? he's not gay, he cleared rumours on a tv interview ages ago, keep up will ya.
OK!
i love you neyo
u is my favorite singer
Since when did this Rihanna/Chris Brown situation involve Ne-yo? I'm tired of all these celebrities trying to get some publicity off of this situation.
You don't have to look no further than Suge Knight. It just pleaded guilty to battery on his girlfriend. The media was not on him because he girl was not a celeb. It's unfortunate but everyday people don't get the help they need like these celebs do. Rihanna's pic was mild at best especially if you see the damage done to other women and in limited cases men.
cheral, u are so ignorant. this isnt about ne-yo, but he's got a point. domestic violence has existed for so long and the only way that people can finally be aware of it is for it to happen to somebody who just happens to be an international pop star??? not hating on rihanna cuz i have so much respect for her, but what about the women (and men) that deal with it on a regular basis?? what about the effects it has on children who witness it?? if it happened to some lady in new jersey, people would say, "so?". its a sad truth.
wot da f*** shut up neyo, y r u tryna seek attention 4, dis has nothin 2 do wit your gay arse.
