After earning a near record breaking debut with "Graduation," Kanye West's latest album "808s & Heartbreak" was released with high expectations just in time for 'Black Friday'. According to Billboard, West may be heartbroken when the numbers come in this week.
Sources says Kanye West's "808s & Heartbreak" will sell in the range of 425,000 - 450,000 copies, significantly lower than the expected 700,000 - 975,000 units projected in November.
West's album was not the only album to receive less than stellar sales over the holiday. According to several retail outlets, music sales were down 10% to 30%.
Official numbers will be announced later today.

The College Dropout was the introduction of Kanye West pretty much to the masses, its first week sales were under 500,000 which is still pretty awesome for a newcomer. And once people realized how much of a BONAFIED CLASSIC that LP was, what a new sound this was, more and more people became fans and the next 2 LPs moved ridiculous amounts their first weeks because Kanye proved himself and he had a signature sound (even though it got changed), that still kept peolpe interested.
Then comes 2008 and Mr. West drops what made him a household name (sped up samples, rapping, dope metaphors) and gets a new sounds. So now it's like it's 2004 again, a lot of people don't know what to make of this new sound , and Kanye's gonna have to prove himself again. So once again when people realize how much of a BONAFIED classic 808s & Heartbreak is, the next LPs will move what LR and Grad did upon the release of THE COLLEGE DROPOUT
