Name: Jermaine Paul

It's not a coincidence that when six young musicians out of the New York area decided to join together and form an urban R&B band, that they would quickly become the hottest word on the street. FOCUS, is the word and Jermaine, David, Nate, Donald, Jason and Andrew makes up the meaning behind the phenomenon that has created the buzz that is currently spanning the US from NY to LA.

Growing up in the church, these young men played every Sunday for the early service, and also have performed in their schools and throughout the communities they live in.

Jeremiah Jermaine Paul goes by "Preacher" because he enjoys riling up the crowd as he croons and delivers his soul to the audience. Nathaniel and Jason Stallworth are brothers. They go by stage names "Nature a.k.a. The Locksmith" and "J-Star"; Nathan controls the keys as any "Locksmith" would and Jason the drums. David "D-Bass" Holder, the band's bass player and Andrew "Axe" Tardieu the lead guitarist are the youngest members of the crew, barely out of High school a year. Donald Wilkerson is the Saxophonist extraordinaire, currently finishing his studies at Five Town's College in Long Island, NY, where schoolmates David, Nate, Jason and Andrew attend.

Now it begins. Focus has hit every hot spot throughout New York including Nells, La Bar Bat, BB Kings, The Village Underground, Jimmy's Uptown Café, Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar and the famous Joe's Pub. They have back multi-platinum artists such as Blu Cantrell, David Hollister, Silk's former lead singer "Lil G', and, have opened for Alicia Keys during her 2002 tour in two cities; Virginia Beach and Baltimore, MD. They've performed for radio personality Kenny Green on Kiss-Fm live and the Wendy Williams' Show on WBLS - FM called "Wendy Got the Heat", as well as Maria Davis' Monday Madness at Soul Café'. They are a regular attraction at New York's most powerful promotional venue MBK's R&B Live at BB Kings, which showcases once a month, and you can hear lead singer Jermaine on Alicia Keys new album release singing duet with her on title single "Diary".
