The pending divorce between Mary J. Blige and her estranged husband Kendu Isaacs is still ongoing, and Mary’s money may be taking a hit. She’s trying to sell their 20,000-square-foot New Jersey estate that’s been on the market since 2015, but it hasn’t been easy.
Blige reportedly paid $12.8 million for the home in an all-cash deal in 2008 and listed it for $13 million in 2015. Now, Blige has dropped the listing price to $8.9 million (the fourth price cut in less than two years), which would mean a $3 million loss on the property.
The home features two formal dining rooms, a kitchen with double center islands, two refrigerators and a circular breakfast room with vaulted ceilings, a master suite with a separate sitting room and a double-sided fireplace, a home gym, sauna, steam room, indoor basketball court and wine cellar. There are also 11.5 bathrooms, a pool and a pool house. According to records, Blige paid $98,547 in property taxes on the property last year.
With that being said, clearly, Blige needs to get rid of expenses because Isaacs is requesting $129,319 per month to maintain his “lavish lifestyle,” according to court documents. He claims he’s financially struggling because Blige fired him as her manager and that he had a “significant role” in growing her career, negotiating “practically every deal on her behalf.” Court docs obtained by DailyMail.com show Isaacs made $46,204 a month when he was employed by his wife, and earned a total of $554,465 last year as her manager. (So he wants more money as en ex-employee and ex-husband than when he was working for her? Those numbers don’t add up!)
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, she spoke of her bitter and costly divorce. “I’ve finally got my life back. My fans have saved me. I have to keep going for them.”
