John Legend and Kanye West have been friends for a long time. Matter of fact, West put Legend on in the early 2000s.
So how does Legend (who’s been outspoken about his aversion to Donald Trump and what he stands for) feel about his buddy West’s meeting with the President-elect on Tuesday?
“Whatever’s in his mind, I disagree with him,” Legend said in an interview with France’s Clique TV, via FACT Magazine.
The singer also added that he was “disappointed” by Kanye’s rant onstage where he revealed that he “would have voted for Trump” if he had voted in the 2016 election.“I think Trump has been corrosive to the country,” Legend said. “I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing,” he said.
West tweeted that he and Trump met to discuss “multicultural issues,” but Legend thinks West was being used by Trump for publicity. “I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to [Trump] about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt,” the singer said. “I think Kanye was a publicity stunt.”
Could this have an effect of their friendship?
