Fresh off his five-year hiatus from music, a time he used to accomplish several personal milestones, Lloyd releases the brand new EP, Tru, via his Young Goldie Music imprint and EMPIRE. The project is preceded by the title track and the newly issued ‘Holding,’ featuring long-time collaborator Lil Wayne.
“It was just pure therapy; It was only for me,” Lloyd said about the independently released project. “I remember the first few times people would listen to it; I would leave the studio. I could never look at people while they were listening to it.”
The ‘Tru’ EP also features appearances from Rick Ross (‘Heavenly Bodies’) and 2 Chainz on the remix of the title track. The project serves as the precursor to Lloyd’s forthcoming fifth studio album, currently titled Out My Window, due next year. His last LP was 2011’s King of Hearts.
